Directions: From B/N area take I-74 West and get off at Goodfield exit. Go North on Rt.17 to Eureka and turn left (West) at 2nd stoplight (Rt 24). Next, go approx. 7.5 miles to Washington/Metamora Rd stoplight (Main St.) and turn left (South). Washington Middle School is on the right in about a mile. This tournament is an OFFICIAL United States Chess Federation (USCF) Swiss System Scholastic event for teams and individuals in 3 to 5 Divisions. (Divisions and trophies will vary due to attendance.) We will use 5 tiebreakers: Solkoff, Modified Median, Sonneborn-Berger, Performance of Opposition, and Average Opposition.


All Divisions 4 Rounds and G30-No Delay. We are usually done by 3 pm.


Primary: K-1 1st Rd, 9:30; 2nd Rd, ASAP; Lunch break; 3rd Rd, 12:00; 4th Rd, ASAP; Awards, ASAP

Secondary: 2-3 Same

Elementary: 4-5 Same

Junior High: 6-8 Same

High School: 9-12 Same


1st Place Team trophies in all Divisions except H.S. A Team score is the top three scores for each school in each Division. 1st and 2nd place trophies to top two individuals in each Division except H.S. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and possibly more trophies to the top individuals in each Grade except H.S. H.S. has only 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Individual trophies. You must have at least one point to get a trophy. More or less trophies will be handed out according to attendance. Our goal is 25% to 30% in attendance get trophies.

There will be Unrated and Upset trophies in each Division except H.S.

Check-in: 8-9am at Registration Desk. Make sure everyone is accounted for at registration before 9am. After 9am those not accounted for are dropped and can play in 2nd Round if they are late arriving.

THE ENTRY DEADLINE is 8pm Wednesday night before the tournament (12/7/11).
