Hult Chess Club Meetings restart January 6th

Due to the timing of the year end holidays, there will be no more Friday night club meetings until January. Please join us January 6th when club meetings resume. The year end hiatus also applies to Saturday & Sunday chess lessons at the Peoria North Library. Our 2017 schedule for Friday night meeting at Schnucks and private lessons begin January 6th. See you at Schnucks!!

No More Saturday Chess Lessons

Coaches Murrel & Patrick will be discontinuing Saturday chess lessons. Lessons on other days of the week will be unaffected. The change is due to the too frequent interruptions due to chess tournaments & competing student events which seem to fall on Saturdays. It is hoped that we will be able to provide other more generic workshops of interest to multiple students on non-conflicting Saturdays. Topics being reviewed for workshop presentations include endgame technique, tactics and strategic planning as well as general chess principles, specific openings and other topics of chess interest. To move your lessons day & time to another day please see your coach to reschedule.

Hult Chess Club Meetings

Hult Chess Club meets every Friday night from 6:30 to 8:30pm in the community room of the Schnucks Supermarket at University & Glen in Peoria. We are returning to Schnucks after a couple of months at Proctor Hospital. When leaving, please remember we are the guests of the grocery store and there will be no running or causing commotion in the store.

The club is for K-12 youngsters in Peoria and surrounding Central Illinois areas. Sets, boards and clocks are provided. Activities range from small tournaments to instruction to puzzles and commentary.
